In fact, it is a 60 m long cave that is believed to be the place where Lord Vishnu took the form of a celestial nymph, Mohini to kill the demon, Bhasmasur. Bada Mahadev is also the oldest temple in Pachmarhi and is an important pilgrimage center as well.
